The Township of Pine is the recipient of the Governor's Award for Local Excellence. This award recognizes local governments and individuals that have found creative ways to improve their communities.
In 2013, as a part of the budget review process, terms and conditions of the Fire Company loan were reviewed, and a more favorable financing arrangement was initiated by the Board of Supervisors, ultimately saving the Township (and its residents) approximately $1,622,846 in interest over the term of the Fire Company loan.
A reception was held at the Pennsylvania State Capitol on April 15, 2014 in honor of the recipients.
The Township of Pine is proud to announce that it has been designated a
"Banner Community" for distinguishing itself as a municipality that has implemented Benchmark Governing Practices as a leader in delivering services and strengthening the quality of life for its constituents.
A press conference was held Wednesday, April 2, 2014, by County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, at the Allegheny Court House to honor this achievement.

Jordan Tax Service will be at the Pine Community Center to collect the 2014 Township of Pine Real Estate Taxes on Wednesday, May 28 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. and Friday, May 30 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon.
