Environmental Advisory Council
The Environmental Advisory Council consists of five (5) members who serve a three year term.

The Environmental Advisory Council advises the Board of Supervisors and the Planning Commission on matters concerning the protection, conservation, management, promotion and use of natural resources, including air, land and water resources pursuant to Act No. 148 of December 21,1973.

The Environmental Advisory Council meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM.

Parks and Recreation Commission
The Parks and Recreation Commission consists of seven (7) members appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The Parks and Recreation Director is a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission in an ex officio and non-voting capacity. The Commission shall be responsible for the periodic review of parks and recreation programs for the purpose of recommending changes; and for advising the Township Manager, the Board, the Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Parks and Recreation Director on recreation needs, use of facilities and programs and fee structures relating thereto.

 

The Parks and Recreation Commission meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 8:00 PM and at other times as may be necessary. The Parks Subcommittee and Recreation Subcommittee meet at 7:00 PM on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Any additional meetings will be advertised.

Parks Subcommittee
The Parks Subcommittee consists of five (5) members appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The Parks Subcommittee shall have direct responsibility for the development, operation, maintenance and management of parks, park facilities, trails and greenways.

The members of the Subcommittee shall select one (1) member to serve as its Vice-Chairperson and one (1) member as its Secretary who shall keep or cause to be kept a full and true record of all the meetings of the Parks Subcommittee. The Vice-Chair of the Parks Subcommittee will also serve on the Parks and Recreation Commission. Further, the Subcommittee shall select one (1) member to serve as a member-at-large on the Parks and Recreation Commission.

The Parks Subcommittee meets at 7:00 PM on the 2nd Tuesday of each month and Additional meetings will be advertised.

Recreation Subcommittee
The Recreation Subcommittee consists of seven (7) members appointed by the Board of Supervisors.

The Recreation Subcommittee shall have direct responsibility for parks and recreation programming. Such programming shall include, organization of, operation of, and volunteer recruitment for recreation programs (e.g., summer recreation program, line dancing, Easter egg hunt, volleyball tournaments and Halloween Hayride) and community recreation (e.g., basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, football, swimming, and athletic tournaments).

The members of the Subcommittee shall select one (1) member to serve as its Vice-Chairperson and one (1) member as its Secretary who shall keep or cause to be kept a full and true record of all the meetings of the Recreation Subcommittee. The Vice-Chair of the Recreation Subcommittee will also serve on the Parks and Recreation Commission. Further, the Subcommittee shall select one (1) member to serve as a member-at-large on the Parks and Recreation Commission.

Planning Commission
The Planning Commission consists of seven (7) members appointed by the Board of Supervisors and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors upon all plans related to land development in the Municipality. It functions as the planning agency for the Municipality.

The Planning Commission meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 PM and at other times as may be necessary. Additional meetings will be advertised.

Zoning Hearing Board
The Zoning Hearing Board consists of five (5) members who serve three year terms. They conduct hearings and render decisions on appeals from the Zoning Officer; hear challenges to the validity of any ordinance or map; hear requests for variances and render decisions thereon; and hear and decide upon requests for special exceptions. They are also responsible for implementing the duties and responsibilities outlined in the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, as amended.

The Zoning Hearing Board meets as may be necessary. All meetings will be advertised.
