Recycling Works in Pennsylvania

Collecting recyclable materials is convenient and easy.

Use your BLUE-TOP Recycling Cart for the following items:

  • Aluminum & steel cans & lids
  • Newspaper, magazines
  • Aluminum foil & foil products
  • Plastic containers
  • Phone books, catalogues
  • Office paper
  • Glass bottles & jars, all colors
  • Junk mail & envelopes
  • Brown paper bags
  • Paper – all colors
  • Paperboard items
  • Cardboard boxes – flatten cardboard
  • Cardboard egg cartons
  • Plastic milk cartons

Rinse and remove lids and caps, wipe out oily or greasy containers with a cloth, place items loose in the cart. Do not place items in plastic or paper bags.  All materials should be clean, dry and loose. Plastic bags or garbage liners should not be used.

Two steel containers are located at the back of the Municipal Center, solely for residents’ use in recycling cardboard. Before placing them into the container, boxes must be folded down and all other packaging items – Styrofoam blocks, plastic peanuts, air pillows, and so on – must be removed. The container is available 24/7, and it’s yours to use free of charge.

Donate your unwanted items at the Township of Pine’s annual recycling event held the first Saturday of May.
